Müm, a modular perch seating system that promotes healthy ergonomics through movement, has won the 2016 Best of NeoCon Gold Award in the education systems category. The Müm collection is a product line of “touchdown” or “perch” seating made from common components, which allows for efficient manufacturing and a variety of options to meet different customer needs. Low and high versions of Müm with flat, rocker or roller bottoms are being produced by furniture manufacturer PS Furniture.
Inspired by the landscapes of the American Southwest Müm is constructed of layers to create various heights throughout the office landscape. This is just like the layers of rocks that form mesas in the otherwise stark environment of the desert. The solid wood bases add a warm furniture like character to the piece while providing a solid weight that is low to the ground increasing product stability. For easy mobility a fine leather tab has been securely attached to the inside structure and sticks through the upholstery seam. The fine grain leather adds a lot of quality at the most important touch point of the piece. Wrapped in Knoll textiles the smooth heathered fabric of Knoll Delite is a simple textile that accentuates the simple tapered forms.
